Sancton is the site of a very large cemetary from the late Roman - early English period. Some of the funery urns recovered resemble those from Borgstede very closely. Others show resemblances to Frisian - Saxon pottery.

Decorative motives also appear drawn from the Frankish and Alemannic regions on the Continent.
