Britain was not "Latinised" to the same extent as Gaul and Spain.

It is certain that Brittonic was still spoken by the mass of the population up to the end of the Roman administration and beyond. Very probably large areas of the island were totally unaffected by Latin as a language.

The presence of Latin as a spoken language in Britain had no discernible effect on Ireland.
